Pepper Ashmore began his music career as a local guitarist before touring nationwide as a backup musician for artists including Lou Christie, The Temptations, The Shirelles, Tommy Roe, the Box Tops, Fabian, Del Shannon, Gary Lewis & the Playboys, and Jan & Dean. After returning to Fargo-Moorhead, he performed with local bands such as Uglier Than Ever, FM Players, and Soft Thunder. In 1992, he set aside his guitar to launch a karaoke business with his wife, Deb.
Today, Pepper is back on stage with a solo act, performing classic hits from the ’60s, ’70s, and ’80s. His smooth tenor voice is backed by both acoustic and electric guitar, creating a warm and engaging performance style.
